The works in “Somethings I can’t unsee” are a direct response to some of the injustices that took place in 2020. Through the use of a vibrant color palette, dynamic forms, and varied textures, the paintings create an abstracted visual dialogue that speaks to the complexity of the events. This dialogue is intended to provide a space for contemplation and reflection, exploring the complexities of politics and social issues. The commercial paint colors are used to represent various entities such as government and BIPOC, emphasizing the imbalance of power. By combining these elements, I strive to highlight the tipping scale of power.
